Tintin - The Secret of Tintinella

Tintin's real name is Nella Tinti, a name of Italian origin, but she calls herself Tintinella or short Tintin. She has a white dog called Hero; her uncle, however, always refers to it as Snowy. Tintinella's best friend is Hanna Dockovic, nick-named Captain Haddock, because she often wears a captain's hat. Together they live in a small flat in Brussels, Belgium.

Tintin is a journalist, photographer and adventurer. Together with Captain Haddock she likes to travel to distant countries like the Congo, the Emirates, South America or Tibet. They usually disguise as men, because travelling in exotic cultures and locations is far easier and safer for men than for girls. Her uncle Georges Remi is a great admirer of her travel photography. So when he asked her she gave him permission to use her photos and her travel journal to publish them as a series of documentary photo books.

As her articles and photography do not make for a living, Tintin recently decided to quit her old job and become a fashion model. When last week she asked me to paint her portrait for her model portfolio, I decided to paint her in the act of getting rid of her travel outfit, typically a white shirt and a blue pullover. This should symbolize the end of her old career. And quite an interesting one it was. You can find out yourself when reading her uncle's publications (listed below).

Completely unaware of Tintin's real identity, Steven Spielberg based his recent movie 'The Secret of the Unicorn' on the publications of her uncle. Tintin called me only yesterday and was really angry about the look and features of Spielberg's Tintin. And I can understand her really well; it's definitely a guy and has a rather naive and bored look.
